Betts Markle, PhD is currently Collection Development Librarian at the Nevada State Library. Betts came to Nevada in 2007 to become the Library Director at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village.  Retiring after 10 years, Betts and her husband moved to Carson City where she volunteered for Nevada Talking Books before joining NSL. Betts has worked in primarily academic libraries in Illinois, Georgia and Nevada.  Her MLIS is from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois and her PhD from Colorado State University. Reading, hiking, camping, and traveling are a few of her favorite activities, but generally, she just loves working in libraries.
